Mission / ተልዕኮ
The Ethiopian Peace Choir envisions an ensemble in Addis Ababa built from local singers with ethnic origins spanning many or all the Ethiopian Ethnicities- Amharas, Oromos, Tigrayans, Somalis, and others (i.e. Sidama, Gurage, Welayta, Americans, other expats). We will be inclusive and equally welcoming of all participants, regardless of and not limited to ethnicity, religion, and socioeconomic status. We foresee an environment for the chorus which demands excellent musicianship in the performance of repertoire from Ethiopia and around the world, while serving socially as peace ambassadors through the fostering of meaningful relationships with one another and the community.
የኢትዮጵያ የሰላም ኅብረ ዘማሪያን ተልዕኮ፣ በአዲስ አበባ ከአብዛኛዎቹ ወይም ከሁሉም የኢትዮጵያ ብሔረሰቦች - ከአማራ፣ ከኦሮሞ፣ ከትግሬ፣ ከሶማሊ፣ ከሲዳማ፣ ከጉራጌ፣ ከወላይታ እና ከሌሎችም ብሔረሰቦች፤ እንዲሁም ከአሜሪካውያንና ከሌሎች በኢትዮጵያ ነዋሪ የውጭ ሀገር ዜጎች - በተውጣጡ ዘፋኞች የተገነባ የሙዚቃ ቡድን ዕውን ማድረግ ነው፡፡ በቡድናችን ለመሳተፍ ፍላጎት ያላቸውን ሰዎች በብሔር፣ በሃይማኖት እንዲሁም በማኅበራዊና ኢኮኖሚያዊ ደረጃ ሳንለይ፣ በእነዚህም ሳንገደብ እናካትታለን፤ ሁሉንም ተሳታፊዎችም በእኩልነት እናስተናግዳለን፡፡ የኅብረ ዝማሬ ቡድኑ ከኢትዮጵያና ከዓለም ዙርያ ከፍተኛ የሙዚቃ ክህሎት የሚጠይቁና የሚያውቋቸውን ጥበባዊ ሥራዎች የሚከውኑበት ምቹ ከባቢ እንደሚፈጠርላቸውና፣ በተጓዳኝም በማኅበራዊ መስክ እርስ በእርሳቸውና ከማኅበረሰባቸውም ጋር ትርጉም ያለው ግንኙነት በመመሥረት የሰላም አምባሳደር ሆነው ማገልገል የሚችሉበት መድረክ ይፈጠርላቸዋል ብለን እንጠብቃለን፡፡
